All-Star Academy

Registration is now open for ages 4-8! Deadline March 1. See below for registration forms and info.

The All-Star Academy is the first step in LASC's progressive philosophy of developing the complete soccer player. It’s also tons of fun two nights a week for over 130 children who learn the basics of soccer through cool drills and fun games. Then they put their skills to work by playing soccer games against other Academy teams.

The Academy is broken into two levels:

As your child progresses through the different phases of the Academy, he or she will be trained in the basic skills essential to achieve success at the higher levels - club soccer, high school and beyond. In LASC's Developmental League, children will not only continue skills training and the intra club league, but they will be given their first taste of real competition by participating in the U8 division of the Manhattan Parks and Recreation governed Wildcat League. This past season we had both U7 and U8 boys and girls teams in the league.

If your child turns 8 before August 1, he or she will move from the Academy on to one of our more competitive U9 teams. These teams will not only participate in the Wildcat or some other established area league, but will also consider 1 to 2 local tournaments in which to participate. You child will be introduced during the course of their final Academy spring season to their potential U9 Club Coach for the following fall season.

LASC Academy Perspective

At the very core of every player - no matter what age, no matter what level - is a child just wanting to play and have fun. This is the "fun"damental goal of the LASC All-Star Academy.

We realize in LASC the importance of nurturing in each child a love for the game and the ability to always have fun on the pitch. Our staff combines these elements with a passion for teaching the basic technical aspects of the game to create a wonderful soccer experience for your young athlete.

LASC Academy Philosophy

The LASC All-Star Academy is dedicated to providing technical soccer training in a fun and unique atmosphere. Correct skills are demonstrated by national and state licensed staff and then refined by using a progressive method that employs drills and fun games. The new skills are then perfected in small-sided games supervised by Academy coaches and parents.

LASC Academy Objectives

  • Fun must be the essential requirement of every exercise and at every practice.
  • Everyone must receive equal opportunity for involvement.
